Kumihimo – Beaded Necklace or Bracelet @ Yarn Over
Jan 30 @ 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Students will already have an understanding of a basic Kumihimo Round 8 Braid.  In this class you’ll learn to incorporate beads into the braid to make either a stunning bracelet or necklace.

Kit contains: Beads, Silk thread, Beading Needle,  Deluxe Fittings.

Please bring:  Scissors, beading mat or felted tray, tape measure.

You will also need: a round Kumihimo Disk, set of bobbins and a beading tray. These are available for the special class price of $23.50

Tea & Coffee is provided.

Knitting – Lace, Brioche, Cable, Knitting with Beads @ Yarn Over

An introduction to some more advanced forms of knitting.  A list of ingredients will be available closer to the time.

Only one of the above techniques will be covered in each class and the materials will be available closer to the time.

Free Basic Techniques @ Yarn Over

This is a free 1 hour class/presentation for students who have a copy of my book, Twist, Turn & Tie 50 Japanese Braids

Come along and touch and feel as you learn how to use different types of thread, fittings and other techniques to take your braiding experience to the next level.

Saturday 6th September:  “Show & Tell” A Special Presentation of Projects.

The remainder of the year yet to be scheduled.

Knitting for beginners @ Yarn Over
Feb 6 @ 8:30 am – 10:30 am

This class is for absolute beginners who have never knitted before.  Learn the basics of knitting – Cast on, Cast off, Plain and Purl.  This class will also cover selecting suitable yarn and pattern for your first project.

The cost includes yarn and needles to start a washer.

Knitting – Sock Knitting – Lesson 1 @ Yarn Over
Feb 13 @ 8:30 am – 10:30 am

This two-part class will demonstrate how to knit a simple sock from the top-down.  You will learn how to cast-on using Double Pointed Needles, how to shape the foot and finish the toe.

Choose from a self-patterning wool for a pair of socks (Kits from $25) or yarn for a Christmas Stocking (Kit – small stockings $20 or large stocking $35).  Kits include yarn and a set of DPN’s.

Lesson 1 – 2 hours duration – Cast-on and leg – $40 plus materials above

Lesson 2 – 2 hours duration – turning the heel, shaping the toe – $40  

Lesson 3 (booked at the end of Lesson 2) – kitchener stitch to finish toe – Cost is free

Beading – Woven Beaded Ornament @ Yarn Over

Weave a beautiful ornament to go on a gift or your tree or window.

Class Duration:  1 hour

Book this class and the Openwork Beading Class that follows and pay a total of just $80

Please bring:  Beading mat or tray, Scissors, tape measure, Clear Nail Polish.

Beading – Openwork Beading @ Yarn Over
Feb 16 @ 4:00 am – 6:00 am

Create an elegant flower patterned necklace using a needle and thread to weave your beads.

Class Duration:  2 hours – from 2 to 4pm

Please Bring:  Scissors, beading mat or tray, tape measure, Clear Nail Polish.

Note:  There are 2 Beading Classes on the Friday afternoon.  You can choose either class or both.

Book in for both classes and the price will be just $80

Tea & Coffee is provided.  If you are doing both beading classes it is 3 hours and you are welcome to bring a plate to share.
